Bucket Hat

This bucket hat was created for Eastern Mountain Sports while on the TerraCycle Industrial Design team. These pieces were created as prototypes for an intended manufacturing run to be produced out of upcycled camping tents. The bucket hat evolved with each iteration as we gained experience working with the camping tents, eventually being able to incorporate additional functionality gleaned from the original material. The end item utilizes almost every different material used in the camping tents to add features such as mesh venting, a pocket to fold into, one-of-a-kind printing and colorways, and more.
In the end, the piece did not end up getting manufactured due to the uncertainty of what chemicals were used in the original production of the camping tents.
